Services

Underground pipe, from the street to the house

We do one kind of work: the pipes under your yard. Fixtures and water heaters we leave to the plumbers who do them every day.

Lead service line replacement

We replace the pipe from the main or curb valve to your meter, working with the utility where the line crosses into the street.

  • Full-line replacement where the program allows

  • New line connected at the meter, flushed and checked

  • Written record of what was replaced

Water service replacement

Galvanized steel that has narrowed, copper that leaks, or a line that has failed: a new line, trenched or pulled through where the soil and layout allow.

  • New shutoff inside the house

  • Pressure checked at the taps

Sewer lateral replacement

Clay, cast iron or root-damaged pipe from the house to the city sewer, replaced in an open trench or by pipe bursting where the layout allows.

  • A camera inspection first, so you see what we see

  • Cleanout added where the house has none

Curb valve and shutoff repair

A shutoff that won't turn or a valve that leaks. The curb valve is often the utility's, and we call them when it is.

About the work itself

How long does it take, and is my water off?

A water service replacement is usually a day of digging, sometimes two, and your water is off for part of that day. A sewer lateral takes longer. We give you your dates when we schedule, and we tell you when to fill a few jugs.

What happens to my lawn, sidewalk and driveway?

We cut as little as the route allows, keep the soil on tarps and put it back in layers with sod on top. Concrete is patched or listed as its own line in the estimate. Your written price says which.

Can you replace a line in winter?

When the ground allows. Deep frost can push a dig back, and we say so when we schedule. Thaw season, March to May, is busy, so a check in winter gets you in line earlier.

What does a camera inspection show?

A video from inside the sewer lateral: cracks, roots, offsets and where the pipe changes material. You can keep the file, and we explain what we see before we suggest anything.
